The security deposit is a refundable amount we hold during the rental so that any charges arising at return can be settled from it. On our cars it is €2,000 or €3,500 depending on the vehicle; for clients residing outside Slovakia it is higher — €3,000 in the Premium class and €5,250 in the Luxury class. It is paid by bank transfer against a payment request that carries its own payment reference, and once the car is back and the rental is settled we send it back — in full, if there is nothing to deduct. Below is what the amount depends on, how it is paid, and what happens if we find damage.
How much the deposit is
The deposit is tied to the individual car and shown with it, so you know the figure before you book. Two things affect it:
You see the exact figure with every car in our fleet and in the booking summary — not for the first time in the contract.
How the deposit is paid
We do not block the deposit on a credit card. It is paid by bank transfer against a payment request we send you. Every booking has its own payment reference for the deposit, so we can match the money even if someone else sends it. The request contains the account number, the reference and a pay-by-square QR code; it arrives by e-mail and is also in your account under the booking.
The deposit is not part of the rental price and is paid separately: the rental has its own document and reference, and the deposit is not invoiced. The payment deadline, and what happens if the money does not arrive in time, are set out in our terms and conditions. We hand over the keys only once the rental is paid and the deposit is in.
Cancellation fees are calculated from the rental price, not from the deposit: cancelling less than 48 hours before pick-up, or not collecting the car at all, costs 100 % of the price; cancelling 48 hours to 7 days before pick-up costs 50 %.
Why we ask for it
The deposit is not a payment for the rental and not a prepayment towards the price. It is money held aside and tracked separately from our revenue — it is not invoiced and it is not income for us. It exists for one reason: if charges arise at return, they can be covered without us chasing you afterwards.
What else has to be in place
Before we hand the car over we also need:
Identity is verified online through an external provider, and the contract is signed electronically. The rental price includes comprehensive insurance, third-party liability insurance, the Slovak motorway vignette and 24/7 roadside assistance.
What can reduce it
When the car comes back we prepare a settlement, and only what comes out of it is set against the deposit:
At return we produce a handover protocol with photographs of the car's condition and an itemised list of charges. It goes to both parties for electronic signature only after the settlement is closed, so the figures you sign are the final ones. Traffic offences, fines and tolls incurred during the rental are the renter's responsibility — these often surface weeks later and are handled separately, not as a deduction from a deposit already refunded.
When you get it back
Once the car is returned and the settlement is closed. If there is nothing to deduct, the full amount goes back by transfer. If charges did arise, we return the difference and the breakdown shows what was set against it.
There are two situations where it takes longer:
If you want to check something before booking, see our FAQ, the fee schedule and our terms and conditions, or write to us through the contact page.
One exception: no deposit is charged for a wedding rental with our driver. The car stays with our driver the whole time and the client never takes it over, so there is nothing to secure.
Car rental deposit: how much it is and when you get it back

How much the deposit is
The deposit is tied to the individual car and shown with it, so you know the figure before you book. Two things affect it:
- The car. The Mercedes-Benz GLE 400d 4MATIC and the Dodge Ram 1500 Limited carry a €2,000 deposit; the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450d 4MATIC and the BMW X7 xDrive40d M Sport carry €3,500.
- Your country of residence. For clients residing outside Slovakia the deposit is higher: €3,000 in the Premium class and €5,250 in the Luxury class. Each car therefore shows two figures, and your booking uses the one matching the country you enter.
You see the exact figure with every car in our fleet and in the booking summary — not for the first time in the contract.

It exists for one reason: if charges arise at return, they can be covered without us chasing you afterwards.
What else has to be in place
Before we hand the car over we also need:
- a driving licence held for at least 2 years, and a minimum age of 21 — 25 for premium and sports vehicles;
- a valid ID card or passport;
- any additional driver named in the booking, with their driving licence on file — this costs €10 per day;
- advance notice of any trip abroad. The consent goes into the contract and a fee is added by country: €€30,70 or €250 depending on the band — the list of countries is in our fee schedule.
- Extra mileage. The rate includes 150 km per day on every one of our cars. Kilometres above that limit cost €0.75 to €1.10 depending on the vehicle class, or €0.58 to €0.94 if you prepay them.
- Fuel. If the car comes back with less fuel than it left with, we refill it at your cost. Filling the wrong fuel additionally carries a €100 administrative fee.
- Damage that occurred during the rental. Minor damage is €430 or €860 depending on the vehicle class, and interior damage is likewise €430 or €860.
- Other items from our fee schedule, if any came up during the rental — for example €1,000 for letting an unauthorised person drive, or the administrative fee of €100 for an accident and €40 for a traffic offence.

Once the car is returned and the settlement is closed. If there is nothing to deduct, the full amount goes back by transfer. If charges did arise, we return the difference and the breakdown shows what was set against it.
There are two situations where it takes longer:
- Damage with no known cost yet. If we find damage whose repair cost is still open — waiting on a garage or an insurer — we hold the deposit until the amount is established, then settle it and release the remainder.
- Damage priced but not yet invoiced. In that case only the matching part of the deposit is held; the rest goes back without waiting.
